The Underworld. It seemed to really be Derek's home nowadays. And although he was half demon, that was not the reason he was down here. He was in search of his sister, his twin sister that he had lost at such a young age, and had to witness it himself. He didn't even vanquish the demon. Of course he didn't go without trying, but for the first time in his life, the demon hadn't vanquished when he attempted. The demon most likely had a lifetime scar because of the attempt at a vanquish that Derek had, but it just hadn't been enough. Rachelle was gone, and 16 years later, she still had not resurfaced enough so that he could find her. But he would not quite trying. No matter how much Natalie thought that she was the only one trying to find Rachelle, Derek's entire life was dedicated to it. But she wouldn't really know that, he hadn't seen Natalie in a long time. They hadn't ever gotten along that well.
Throughout the Underworld, it seemed that Derek had gained somewhat of a reputation. He was the son of a demon that had originally been one of the most powerful demon's in existance, and then he had been the Source of All Evil, and then he had come back as an invincible demon. He was known for unconceivable power. And the son of a Charmed One, and that spoke for itself as well, one of the most powerful witches ever to exist. And it wasn't just his lineage that gained the reputation, it was his actions while inhibiting the Underworld. He was ruthless, he had never known he had so much demon in him, but while on his killing spree's, he was fighting for what, in his mind, was the greatest good of all, finding his sister. It didn't matter how many had to die to get to that point; they were only demons after all.
It was just another day in the life of Derek, as he entered a demons cavern. This demon was said to be a powerful one, and so Derek thought that it could have had something to do with Rachelle's kidnapping. It always seemed to be the powerful one's that had the most secrets. The weaker one's were always the one's for hire. They did the dirty work, but was never able to get to know any of the reasons that they were doing it. And Derek was tired of being lead down so many dead ends.
After minutes of going nowhere, Derek was already tired of this one. He was pretty sure that he didn't know anything, and so he didn't want to waste anymore of his time trying to get some information that it seemed this particular demon could never reveal to him. With a simple flick of his wrist, a heat ball jetted out from his hand, and hit the demon square in the chest, blasting it into flames. Sighing, Derek took a seat on the 'throne' that the demon had been previously inhabiting.

Isabella was back in the Underworld again. She didn't know what had drawed her to the place this time but now she was here and it didn't seem to matter. Isabella didn't want to bump into Selene again but she knew if she did it wouldn't make that much different. She heard the noise of her boots clicking against the floor of this place, wherever it was. These boots brought her up to six feet. Tall, too tall her brother had once said. Ugh, I really need to stop thinking about him, Isabella thought.
Hearing a lot of noise her curiosity sparked. She turned invisible and took off her boots so they wouldn't make anymore sound. Carrying them in her hand she jogged towards the spot. Isabella watched as the boy kept trying to get information at a powerful looking demon and seemed to be going nowhere. Finally he just vanquished the demon. As he went to sit in the previous' demon's 'throne' Isabella studied him. She didn't know if she should recognize him or not but at the moment didn't particularly care. Maybe she should have tried to at least learn something about the happenings of the Underworld in the past two years, so she wouldn't be like a lost puppy now.
Deciding to make herself shown she silently put on her boots and then turned visible not caring that demons didn't particularly like people popping out of nowhere. Isabella had to admit she was a bit scared not knowing who the boy was who seemed pretty powerful. If she were that demon, and she knew something, she would have caved somewhere in between the second or third minute of that.
"Not much luck I take it?" asked Isabella in a calm but strong voice pretty much letting him know that she had seen most of that little scene.

Having spent so much time in the Underworld over the past few years, Derek had learned never to jump at things he had normally would have. When you jumped at a surprise, it showed weakness, and when weakness was shown, it was taken advantage of. And then that could get you into a load of trouble very quickly. So he had to train himself not to be surprised by things. He had to expect the unexpected at all times, and never be surprised.
As the newcomer became visible, Derek did not notice, as his head was in his hands. But as she spoke, his body did not move one bit. In fact, he kept his head in his hands the entire time. "Eavesdropping I take it?" He said, finally bringing his gaze up to meet the girl. He didn't recognize her, and he wasn't quite sure if she knew who he was either. It was either she knew of him and his mission, or she had heard the entire conversation that he had just had with the demon. He was leaning more towards the second option though, because she really didn't seem to know who he was.
Derek wasn't going to jump to conclusions on this one. He knew that most people risiding in the Underworld were cold at heart, but this time she was the one entering on him, so he wasn't sure if she lived in the Underworld or not. He would have to wait this one out for a little bit before vanquishing her. Maybe he wouldn't have to. Maybe he could even get some information out of her. But he really doubted it. She was probably completely ignorant to the fact that his twin sister had been kidnapped. It seemed that not many people truly even knew about it. Except those unlucky few who felt the rage of the Charmed One's once Rachelle was taken, but they aren't around anymore to tell the story.

A pleased smile spread over Isabella's lips when the boy didn't move an inch. Sure, it didn't give her the feeling that she was any safer, the opposite, in fact, but a lot of demons showed some sort of weakness upon first meeting her. Normally, Isabella noticed instantly but this boy wasn't giving any clue starting with the fact that he wasn't surprised at her popping up from nowhere. There was one thing, though, he was looking for something. That could be a weakness but Isabella would need more information if she came to a point where she needed it. At the moment, it didn't seem like she needed it though but she knew not to assume.
Isabella didn't think that at the moment this boy was into joking around but she didn't really care as she said in a teasing tone of voice, "If I felt like being tortured I might have said no." She held her stare for a second not wanting to show weakness herself, not wanting him to know that at the moment she was actually frightened of him, and finally relaxed her body still holding her emotionless expression. Flipping her long hair behind her shoulder she shook her head and said now in a normal, relaxed tone of voice, "Actually, I don't even know who you are. I heard noise and decided to see what it was all about. I can't say I really know more than what I started out with but since it'd be rude to ask that question I'll settle with asking you what your name is." Isabella let the curiousity show on her face since although it could be considered a weakness by some people Isabella knew it also gave a vibe of innocence. Which she was, sort of, she was after all trying to become good, but this boy didn't know that.

With the mood that Derek was in because of another pointless interrogation and vanquish, it wasn't exactly pleasant. Honestly, he never really seemed to be a too good of a mood anymore. He tried not to be overly rude to anyone who didn't deserve it, but even that was slipping from him now, the more time he spent in the Underworld the more demon seemed to come out of him. His entire life he had embraced the witch side of him, being scared that someday the demon could take over and he could become evil, like the many times his father couldn't help but be evil. Maybe that day was actually here; maybe Derek was becoming evil.
No, he couldn't. He was the son of a Charmed One, he could not be evil. He just would not let that happen. He had to get that thought out of his head. He would not become evil. Keeping his gaze on Isabella, he sighed, the famous sigh that had always gotten him whatever he wanted in his family. Shaking his head, he decided that he ought to respond to her. Even if she was a demon, which he wasn't sure of, she hadn't done too much wrong yet. He couldn't make his decision about her before he knew more about the present situation, and who she was.
"Derek," he said, looking straight into her eyes to see if he could tell anything about who she was. It was times like these when he wished that he had telepathy or something, because it would really come in handy to be able to read someone's mind. Derek had never really had a problem with his powers. He was pretty lucky when it came to them, but sometimes he wished he could be even more powerful. He may need more the further he got into the search for Rachelle. Who knew what he would have to face to find her.

Nothing. Still nothing. Well, a sigh, but Isabella hadn't known why he sighed. It took him a while to respond but Isabella didn't know what to think of that either. Basically, she didn't know what to think of this boy and that made Isabella nervous. Isabella realized that she didn't need to play this game with everyone she met but at the thought of that her muscles seemed to tighten and fear almost over took her body. For the first time in years, she slipped up and her eyes showed her true emotions, which at the moment consisted of nerves and fear. The next second it was gone and as she noticed Derek looking straight into her eyes she hoped he missed it. If he was nearly as quick as her, though, he wouldn't have and that didn't exactly bring pleasant thoughts into her mind.
"I'm Isabella," she said hoping words would distract him if he had noticed. Isabella gave no more information than he had given her though. Instead she decided to ask him a question. "So, are you a demon? Or a witch looking for something?" Isabella's tone was light as if neither mattered to her and honestly it didn't. Being in between good and evil put her in a position where she couldn't hate witches just as much as she couldn't hate demons. When it came back to it Isabella was a demon and that was in her nature but trying to become good wasn't a position where you could still hate witches. It was complicated. More complicated then it had been, or more complicated than she had noticed, in the past two years.

As Derek continued to stare into Isabella's eyes, he noticed something happen very quickly. If he had blinked at the wrong time he would have missed it, but luckily he had been looking at the right time. It seemed really odd to him, it was almost as if she was nervous, and scared. Honestly, he didn't see demons showing that sign this early in the game. He hadn't even tortured her or even hardly spoken to her at all. Did she know what he was about? Did she know of how many demons he had been killing? Or did just being around what she thought was demons make her nervous? Maybe she wasn't even evil.
He was going to mention something about it, but then she began speaking, trying to move along in their conversation, like she was trying to hide what had just happened. It was obvious that she didn't want him to know about it, because she wouldn't let him dwell on the fact. Her name, just like Derek had stated. Was she really going to leave it at that? That hardly deterred him from her lapse a few moments ago. He was about to say something about it once more, when she spoke again.
Her question surprised Derek quite a bit actually. It seemed like something a demon would not ask. First off, they would most likely assume that you were a demon. Well unless they did just see you vanquish one; but that didn't mean anything, demon's vanquished each other all the time. Although the question seemed extremely odd to Derek, he still figured that he ought to answer it. "A little of both," he said simply. He had never been a man of many words, and so he had learned to express himself in as few words as possible, and he had gotten quite good at it.

Isabella got the feeling that Derek noticed her slip up and for some reason that didn't surprise her. It didn't make her feel any better though either. What exactly was she supposed to say if he mentioned it though? The first time in two years she had slipped up and it had to be at that exact moment.
When Derek gave his answer Isabella let out a small and mumbled, "Of-course." Just like Isabella would do Derek was offering no real information and it was aggrivating Isabella. This way she was getting nowhere. She sure as hell wasn't going to say more than she needed to say and it didn't seem like Derek was going to either. It was a hard thing trying to find out something about another person without revealing any information. Finally, she decided to ask a question she didn't really think he would answer, at least not immediately.
"What's your last name then?" asked Isabella. It was a long shot but then again Derek didn't know her so what did it matter what he thought of her? And it was going farther than it seemed to be going. Also, he might answer, maybe after seeing a reason to.

The thoughts of Isabella's little emotional lapse continued to run through Derek's mind as he tried to concentrate on the situation before him. It was hard to keep focused on her when his mind was racing at 100 miles per hour trying to figure out why it was that she showed those emotions for a second. He wanted to know if she knew who he was, but then again, she couldn't; if she knew who he was, she wouldn't be asking all these questions about him, because he didn't necessarily keep this information a secret from the people he was around. And then he also wanted to know what she was. She seemed like a demon at first, but that slip up made him rethink his assumption.
As Isabella asked her next question, Derek felt his heart skip a beat. This was the question that had always gotten him in trouble when meeting new people. They always seemed to be intimidated by the fact that he was the son of one of the most powerful witches in the world, and one of the most powerful demons in the world. When he tortured demons for answers about Rachelle, his last name was one of the first things out of his mouth, but in a more casual situation like this, when he was asked for it, it became something that he wanted to hide more than anything else.
His mind suddenly switched tracks and began debating whether or not to tell her his last name. Well name's actually. Finally deciding that it wouldn't cause him anymore harm than he had been putting himself into lately, he would tell her his last name's. She may not even know who the Halliwell's or Turner's were. But he figured that she would at least recognize one of the two last names. Taking in a deep breath, he let the breath out while answering her question.
"Halliwell-Turner."

Isabella's everyone's shot up in surprise at his answer. She recognized the name Turner but couldn't put a face to it. Halliwell, though, she knew. Isabella had heard that name for ages. Everyone in the Underworld hated the Charmed Ones and their kids. Isabella had been among those people and now she didn't really know what to think of them. She didn't hate them, she didn't hate them like all low level demons which she personally didn't think she ones but other had had different opinions about her, and she sure didn't admire them like everyone in the "good" side of magic did. So, finally, when she didn't have any clear reaction she decided to base it off the boy in frotn of her. He didn't seem to bad, then again, he could just be really really smart.
"So you're a charmed kid?" asked Isabella finally in a bored voice and finally let out a laugh, "And you're down here? Hate to tell you, Derek, but you're not exactly loved down here as much as you are up there."
Finally, Isabella decided that she might as well let him know something about here besides her name. Sure, Isabella lied about half the time if she felt she needed to, she didn't always have the best judgement, and her fear always kept her from doing the right thing but she had an idea of fairness that other demons did not have or did not take in account. Isabella even doubted that all good people had it.
"Well, just to even up the score I'm Isabella Somane. I doubt you'll recognize that name thought," said Isabella and paused as she thought to herself. Unless you're heard of the chick that killed her own brother. She shook that thought away though and continued, "I'm a demon. Or rather, what my parents call the poorest example of a demon there is...I'm not usually in the Underworld." That was a tad more than she needed to say but she wanted to make it at least a bit clear that she wasn't a threat if his alliance was good. Of-course, Isabella didn't say which alliance she was in since she didn't really have an answer but that was fair enough since Derek hadn't told her his.

At the beginning at least, Derek was surprised to see no outrageous reaction from Isabella. Once again the thought crossed his mind that she may not recognize the name, but not too long out, she started reaction, and by the time that she spoke, he had the understanding that he did know the name. A charmed kid. Oh how many times he had heard that one. Honestly, it did start getting old because he had heard it so many times, but on the other hand, he had gotten use to it as well.
Derek decided to play a long a little bit with what Isabella had said and so he began looking around the dank cavern, an extremely surprised look on his face. "What? Really? You mean the people down here don't like me because my mom and aunts kill all of them?" He said, smirking all the while. Once he finished speaking, he couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. Boy did he amuse himself sometimes.
Apparently she hadn't recognized the Turner last name. He was sure that if he explained the history of Cole she would know all about him, but apparently the last name just didn't strike her, maybe they didn't use them too much in the Underworld. "So you mean that your parents think that your pathetic or something?" He asked cautiously. He didn't want to tread on light ground or anything, he hoped that he wouldn't offend her, because that's not what he was going for at all, he just wanted to know.

At Derek's response to her previous comment Isabella couldn't help but laugh. The grin stayed on her faced as she shrugged with a 'What can you do?' kind of expression. In reality, the joke shouldn't have been as funny as it was. Isabella, herself, had watched as a few of her friends had been killed in one of the Halliwell's demon hunts. She had been invisible all the while, of-course, the only reason Isabella hadn't helped was because she knew she'd mostly likely end up vanquished. No demon is willing to give up their life for another one's, Isabella thought her thoughts going back to her brother. She was quickly pulled out of those thoughts at Derek's next question.
Isabella frowned as she thought of the question. Not many people would ask her that thinking she'd get angry. Isabella wasn't sure she wanted to answer that not because she answered it but because she thought that a bit personal although most of the time she didn't reveal any personal information whatsoever. Finally, she decided to answer it anyways. It didn't matter too much.
"Yeah, my parents thought I was pathetic, too emotional, weak, senstitive and any other thing a regular demon would consider a sign a vulnerability," said Isabella with a sigh. And then, of-course, it was her brother, the powerful one, who had ended up with a witch, she didn't mention that though. Derek didn't have to be bothered with her family history. She shrugged then and made an attempt at a smile, anything having to do with her family was a bit of sore spot, "It doesn't matter, I got over it."

Derek was happy that Isabella laughed at his little joke about not being liked. It showed that she did have a sense of humor, and so she couldn't be a heartless demon like all the rest. Maybe her parents were though, that is why they thought that she was pathetic. Most demons didn't care too much about emotions and such, they wanted power, and that seemed to be all that mattered to them. Maybe they thought that Isabella wasn't powerful enough for them, and so they treated her badly because they didn't think that she would grow up to be the great and powerful demon that they wanted her to be.
His attitude seemed to have changed now. He had been in a outwardly content mood, but suddenly he felt sad for her. How awful it must be to have parents that didn't accept you for who you were. "I'm so sorry. That is horrible. In my opinion, having emotions and weaknesses is a good thing, whether you think it so or not. Without realizing that you have weaknesses, you can't improve on them, and then you are left even more vulnerable than originally thought," he said, shrugging. He did truly believe that having emotions and similar things like that was a good thing, but obviously most demons didn't think that way.

Isabella ran her tongue across her two front teeth as she thought about Derek's next words. She, of-course, didn't agree since afterall she was a demon. What Isabella had always thought was that weaknesses weren't that bad if no one knew you had them, she never even considered thinking them as good and she wasn't going to start now. She realized then she hadn't answered Derek and thought maybe she should even if her response wouldn't exactly be the one he was waiting for.
"Derek, I'm a demon, weaknesses and emotions just don't fit into the category. I mean everyone has emotions but with demons it's like...selective and I have all of them," said Isabella. She then smiled and said, "It's genetic, actually, believe it or not. My mom, she knows no other emotions, but my father had fallen in love with a witch and then she died and any progress my father could have made on bettering himself was just killed of when he got with my mother."
Isabella stopped speaking abruptly pinching her bottom lip inbetween her two front teeth. She was talking to much and that was surprising since she usually did have a handle on how much she talked. Then again, she didn't normally talk to anyone. Finally, she just smiled lightly and said, "You have nothing to be sorry about. It among the things you deal with growing up in the Underworld."
She knew that anybody hearing about her parents and their expectations would think she would have grown up a cold and heartless demon. That was true, of-course, she had been close to becoming somewhat like Selene Strorm. Isabella knew her life would have been different if her brother had never fallen in love with that witch but because she never spoke of her brother some people always thought that her not being a cold heartless demon was strange and somewhat mysterious. That was alright with Isabella though, she'd rather not have everything on the surface.

Honestly, Derek had been hoping that Isabella wouldn't fit the typical demon mold. So far, she had proven that she didn't. She didn't automatically attack him, and she was having an intelligent conversation with him. She seemed nice, or at least not rude, and that was big for a demon. He honestly didn't think that he had ever carried on a decent conversation this long with a demon that he wasn't torturing, except his father, but that didn't count because most of the time their conversations weren't all too friendly with each other.
But unfortunately he was mistaken. Even if she didn't show all the qualities of being a demon, she still had some of their traits. And even in her explanation of not being able to think of weaknesses as being a good thing she showed qualities of not being like other demons. She spoke of how she felt emotions, not just evil and the want for power like most demons. Her father, he fell in love with a witch; how familiar is that. It sounds like Cole all over again, turning good for a witch, but then being bad when you feel that you can't have her any longer.
Shrugging, Derek turned his gaze to Isabella's eyes. They showed emotion like he hadn't seen in demons before. It was obvious that she wasn't your everyday demon. "Well I feel bad that you had to be raised like that. I can tell you have have so much potention other than evil. I wish that more of that side of you could become active," he said, shrugging once more. He had always tried to keep people on the side of good, and if he ever saw a hint of good in anyone he had attempted to persuade them to be good. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't, he was hoping that he could get through to Isabella.
