After Derek was done talking Isabella smiled bitterly and shaking her head mumbled, "Typical witch." She wasn't sure if Derek could hear or not but she wasn't sure she cared. If anything, Isabella was right. They were all the same, or at least spoke the same. They made it so simple as wanting to be good and that's what you were. If they were so into emotions why didn't they happen to understand emotions of trying to be some that you weren't, that you hadn't been, at least. The thing that bugged her was that Derek had said he wished more of that side could become active.
"You don't know me," Isabella pointed out not rude but nice exactly. "I'm not evil, if you haven't guessed already." Sure, Isabella wasn't good either but she was trying to be and trying to good didn't fall into the category of evil. There seemed to be such a fine line between evil and good for people that didn't know any better.
Isabella thought she knew why he fit her into the category of evil, because of her little explenation of weaknesses and emotions not being a good thing. That's just how Isabella grew up and she wasn't about to change herself for someone who decided that because of that she had to be evil. She felt like she had to explain it to Derek though, mostly because most witches didn't take that much time out to talk to demons.
"It's just how I was raised. Sixteen years of being told that emotions were useless and weaknesses just couldn't be on the surface. Maybe emotions are good, maybe weaknesses are useful but I wasn't raised to think that. If that fits into the category of evil to you then oh well, I don't need to prove myself to a close-minded witch," said Isabella softly looking Derek straight in the eyes. Maybe she couldn't quite be good but she did know how to stay true to her opinions.

So far, the conversation between the two of them had been pretty good. Up to this point that is. After his most recent comment, it seemed as if Isabella had a change in heart. The first thought that crossed his mind was that she was a demon, and so he couldn't expect her to be nice to him for too long. Maybe she was just using him all along and she wanted to kill him or something, and so now her true colors were coming out. But Derek had to shake that thought from his head, Isabella had not given him a very good reason to think that of her, and he was trying hard not to judge her because of the fact that she was a demon.
Her last comment started off nice, and Derek was listening intently, but unfortunately it ended on a sour note. Shaking his head, Derek rested his gaze on the ground while trying to figure out what to say to Isabella. "I understand how hard it can be to shake habits that you were raised with. But you don't need to revert to cruel ways just because you think someone may assume that you are evil. If anything, I would think that you would want to prove them wrong," he said, shrugging lightly. He wasn't sure how Isabella would take it, and he didn't want to end the conversation there, but he felt that he ought to say that.

Isabella felt her anger rise as Derek spoke. Unfortunately, anger had always been one emotion she couldn't control. It showed clear on her face as her eyes merely showed defiance. Around her Isabella could feel the air thicken. Isabella knew that most demon's reactions when they got angry was to vanquish the annoyance but that wasn't what Isabella did mostly because she only killed someone when she had to.
Although Isabella was angry her tone of voice stayed steady. Unlike most people, when Isabella got angry her voice got quieter as her jaw stiffened up. "I hardly say I'm reverting to cruel ways but I wouldn't know, now would I Halliwell?" said Isabella her voice cool and awful sarcastic. "I thought cruel was coming down and killing as many demons as you can even if they never had information about whatever the hell you're looking for. I thought cruel was coming down here and killing demons, not for self-denfense, no, but for your pure entertainment."
Isabella's eyes glared at Derek as she remembered a lot of of her friends had gotten killed by witches' demon hunts. Of-course, demons did they same but you would have thought they greater good wouldn't want to stoop down to demon levels. "Then I guess I could be wrong and I apologize if anything I said was a bit sour," said Isabella still sarcastic. Isabella's arms were crossed by now and she couldn't even remember when she crossed them but it was something else she did when she was angry.

It was extremely obvious that Isabella wasn't at all fond of what Derek had just said. And inside, Derek felt a pang because he did not want to hurt Isabella's feelings, but apparently he had failed at that. But with her retort to him, his own temper began to flair, and bad things happened most of the time when he got angry. He didn't know if it happened to other people, but in the Halliwell line magic seemed to happen when emotions occurred in extreme's, and in Derek it happened quite often.
"Well, you hadn't gotten to cruel yet," he said, sighing heavily. "But you are getting much closer now," he added, rolling his eyes. He could tell that she was extremely pissed off when she called him Halliwell. All through their conversation so far they had been on a first name basis, Isabella to Derek. But now, she was pissed, she used his last name, a sign that she didn't think of him at all the same, at least not at that moment inparticular.
"I have never killed anyone or anything for entertainment. You think that I enjoy killing?" He asked, temper rising higher than it had been so far. "I don't! Killing is one of the worst feelings in the world! But when you know that you are doing it for good, making the world a better place, then it equals it out a little bit. Searching for my sister is of utmost importance. You don't know what would happen if her powers fell into the wrong hands. You don't understand, so stop pretending that you know what is going through my head when I am killing the damn demons that hurt my family."

Isabella ignored Derek's first comment because she didn't feel that she had to answer it. If Derek hadn't wanted her to angry then maybe he shouldn't have pissed her off. It was clear that she was angry when she used someone's last name. For heaven's sake she even called Selene by her first name. Isabella could tell he was getting angry too when he started yelling at her. A part of her was glad that she had pissed him off as much as he had pissed her off, another part of her became angrier because she really hated when people had the nerve to yell at her, and another tiny part of her knew that if the both of them kept this up results couldn't be good. Of-course, the first two feelings over-ruled the last one as her powers made the around them thicken even more with heat.
"You think I give a damn about your sister?" yelled Isabella making it sound worse then she actually meant it. Sure, at any other time she would have cared but at the moment she was too angry to care about anything. Him talking about her sister just made her remember her brother. "I'm glad, alright? I'm glad that knowing you're turning the world into a better place helps you sleep at night because thinking of my friends and family that got killed on a witch's hunting spree sure didn't help me get to sleep! And I'm not pretending that I know what is going through you head cause I don't care to find out but while we're at it why don't you stop turning my life into something simple when it isn't even close!"

This yelling fest was getting them no where except more pissed off at each other, and just in general. And when Derek was pissed off, he became quick to judge and assume, which may be the only time he would have killed a demon that may not have given him just reason to do so. Sure, he still wouldn't kill them for nothing, but he may be quicker to kill them then then if he was in his right mind and actually thought about what he was doing. But in his state of anger, he didn't think too much about what he was doing before he did it.
The comment about her not giving a damn about his sister was what really set him over the edge though. He could take most things, but when it came to talking about Rachelle, he blew up very quickly, without hesitation. Insults going to his sister seemed to change Derek, for the worse. That is when the demon inside of him seemed to become more dominant, and let the good little witch side have a rest. And that seemed to be happening now, as Derek heated up, his good judgement seemed to flee and if you looked close enough, you could swear that his eyes even gained a bit of a black tint to them. Not many people noticed it, but he blamed it on the fact that his dad had been the Source, and that's what he did to show authority, and so he blamed that fact on him.
Although his temper had completely burst open and he had become more furious than he had in a long time, his voice changed. He was no longer yelling, but rather speaking very low, and somewhat quiet. But you could tell laced throughout his voice that it held evil in it. "I never assumed that your life was simple. But you can't say it about me either. I know that what I do is right. Can you say the same?" He asked. Deep down, he knew that that question could be hurtful, but he didn't even seem to care. Isabella seemed different than other demons, she didn't have the hatred and evil that they showed, but Derek didn't care right now. In this state of anger she was just like all the rest of them. Isabella, who noticed things better than most people, could have swore for a second that she saw Derek's eyes change. Usually, in a normal state she could have named the difference but in this state of anger she ignored it and pretended that she hadn't seen anything even though a part of her knew she did. When Derek spoke again his voice was quiet and it reminded her of the last time her brother had spoken to her, before he died, before she killed him.
At his question Isabella's jaw tightened with so much anger her teeth literally started to hurt. She body now longed to punch him, kick him, anything, but she didn't. Isabella wasn't sure how to respond. Of-course she hadn't done anything right in her past, she didn't grew up with a witch family, she grew up in the Underworld. In this state of anger she wasn't thinking reasonably though. She couldn't tell herself that at least she was trying to turn her life around. All she could think about was her anger towards Derek.
"No, I can't," said Isabella in a cold, deadly quiet voice. In this state of anger where you could even hear danger in her voice is when you know Isabella is really angry and when you see the true demon in her come out. "I can say, though, that you better shut the f**k up before I decide to fulfill the life my parents wanted for me and kick your @ss."

"Huh. Didn't think so," said Derek as his blackening eyes continued to gaze evilly into Isabella's. Honestly, Derek was not sure that he had ever been this cruel to anyone, verbally that is. His demon side had taken control before, that is how some of his family members know about his eyes darkening, but not very many people know about it. Only his mother, Natalie, Keira, and he was pretty sure that it may have happened when he was younger and so Rachelle may have some idea. That is if she had a good enough memory to remember that from when she was five years old or younger.
But he had never tried to verbally hurt someone this bad before. But Isabella had cut him too deep by insulting his quest to find Rachelle, and now he would not back down. He couldn't. It was one thing to try to cause harm or make fun of him; that he could handle. Maybe even the family that he still had around to go talk to when things were down. He may get more angry then, but it is something completely different when it is Rachelle. She is something that nobody can hardly even talk about without Derek blowing up. It is like she is something sacred to him. He is more protective over the subject of her than just about anything else.
Shaking his head, Derek let a very evil looking smile slide over his lips. Maybe a fight was just what he needed right now. It would help him get all this anger that he had built up gone, so that he wouldn't try and take it out on people that didn't even cause it. Maybe if he just fought with Isabella, then he could actually take the anger out on the person that caused it, and it would be fair that way. "I would love to see you try," he said, the evil smile staying plastered to his face.

At Derek's first response Isabella's hand balled into a fist. She had never wanted to hurt someone so bad in her entire life and there were some pretty nasty demons in th Underworld, and that was just the normal side of her. The demon side of Isabella wanted to kill Derek and that side of her hadn't come out on the surface for a while now.
It was now that Isabella noticed the darkening eyes but that hardly mattered to her. There were a lot of demons in the Underworld whose eyes just turned black from the beginning. Isabella's eyes were still that navy blue but they burned now with anger. Her eyes weren't the only thing. The usually cold temperature in the Underworld had now raised. Isabella finally took away the heat maybe taking a bit more than she needed to, not really caring.
At Derek's remark Isabella's heart started pounding hard against her chest as it always did from the beginning of a fight to hours after. When she was this angry though nothing seemed to matter to her, especially not her fear. "Oh, you're not going to see anything," said Isabella with her own evil smile before she turned invisible. With her solarkinesis power she made a heat ball and threw it towards Derek hoping his reaction would be slow enough that it'd hit him.

Honestly, Derek was truly hoping that Isabella would accept his invitation to the fight. It had been quite a while since he had had a real battle, one where he wasn't just there to vanquish the demon, although right now vanquishing Isabella didn't seem like too bad of an option. But he figured that he ought to just have a little bit of fun with this battle. At least for a little bit, he couldn't take it too seriously too soon because then he wouldn't really have time to get his anger out.
At her reply, Derek smirked. But it was the quickness that she began with that surprised him the most. But then again, he couldn't very well expect her to just wait for him to make the first move, because that would be stupid. He had no idea of what kind of powers she had though, and so it would be a bit of a disadvantage, but not too much because she didn't know his eithers. Out of what seemed to be nowhere a ball of heat hurtled towards him, much like his power, but it was still a little different.
He didn't really have time to move out of the way, and so instead he sent a dark red energy wave at the ball of heat. Colliding with the ball, the energy wave destroyed it, and itself, causing a minor explosion, making him stumble backwards slightly, but he quickly regained his balance. Damn invisibility, he thought, searching the cavern for her, although he could not see her, obviously. Figuring that he ought to just try something, he sent three different energy waves in three different directions, hoping that one would at least knick her.

A thing that was starting to annoy Isabella was that it seemed like Derek was ready to enjoy the battle. Isabella didn't know why it bothered her and then channeled the annoyment into more anger. Derek had said he didn't enjoy killing and he didn't seem to mind trying to kill her. Not that Isabella thought he'd kill her. If she could survive her brother she could Derek no matter what his last name was. The death possibility still made her heart beat faster, though, and she was glad he could hear it or see the fear on her face.
When he made the energy ball to make the heat ball explode Isabella was a bit disappointed but not surprised. In a fight like this it was almost considered pathetic to slip up on the first blow. She smirked at him not being able to see her but the smirk quickly came of her face when she saw one of the energy waves Derek sent out towards her.
Isabella, without thinking, but an ice wall all around her. She realized moments after that that wouldn't work extremely well but it'd have to work. When the energy wave made contact with the wall a squeak of partial discomfort at the noise and partial nervousness came from Isabella's throat. The ice shattered like glass to the floor but some of the energy left over made her body crash back into the ice that was left behind her. All that mattered to Isabella though was that she was still standing since she would have felt pathetic falling to the ground.
As Isabella made the rest of the ice wall disappear it hit her where the name Turner came from. She had heard it before. It struck her just as she looked into Derek's eyes again that he look at bit like Cole Turner the previous source. Surprisingly, the thought made her sneer. "I thought the Source's son would have been able to do better than that," Isabella said smartly. Then, she cocked her head in mocking sadness, "Or are thoughts of your sisters holding you back?"

Derek kept switching his gaze from wave to wave, hoping that he would be able to tell when one of them hit. And fortunately, he was right. Before it hit her, she made an ice wall, giving away her position, and letting Derek lock in on her. When she was thrown back against the second layer of ice, Derek smirked, trying to keep his gaze on her, although it was impossible since she was invisible, he was still trying to make sure that he knew where she was at all times.
The smirk immediately disappeared from his face when Isabella realized who his father was. It took her long enough. But now she was just going to use it to taunt him. Like that would work. He knew that he wasn't trying extremely hard then, energy waves was one of his weakest powers, they couldn't completely kill people. Not strong people at least. And the little comment about his sister just made Derek even more pissed off. He outreached each of his hands, and a ball of swirling heat particles appeared in each. The heat eminating off of them was much more intense than that of a fireball. He took a quick glance at each of the balls, then threw them both at the same time, towards each other and in a forward motion. On their way towards where he was pretty sure Isabella still was, the balls collided, but instead of exploding, the heat particles of the two balls joined together, and made a larger, stronger ball of heat. Isabella was glad to see the smirk slide of his face at him hearing that she finally realized who his father was. Actually, it didn't matter to Isabella who his family was. Family had long ago stopped worrying Isabella since she had never really had an affect on them. Most people would be intimidated with parents like that, hell, Isabella would have been intimidated if she had been in a state of mind to think about it. Right now, all that mattered to her was hurting Derek as much as he possibly could.
When she saw the heat balls Isabella literally smirked. Isabella thrived with heat. She had had solarkinesis for ten years and knew how to control better than most. Isabella even hated the cold lately. With a swipe of her hand the heat ball started fading of as she made the heat decrease until finally it was just air. That had actually taken a bit more effort than it usually did since the heat ball had been strong but she had grown up using it, it was only natural she could use it well. She became became visible for him and was shaking her head lightly with a smirk on her face.
You wouldn't play with fire with a firestarter and it wasn't smart playing with heat with Isabella. If he wanted to do it that way, though, that was the way Isabella was going to play. Soon, heat started filling the room since it was easier for her to use her powers with heat or the sun around her but she obviously wasn't going to find the sun down there. She put her hand up and made a heat wave head towards Derek. It was an average heat wave, not her strongest, but she didn't want to pull out the strongest yet.

Derek felt his jaw drop slightly as his heat ball slowly vanished into thin air. Not many people could do that, but when you have the ability to alter heat, it must be easier. Sighing, Derek shook his head. He really wished that that would have hit her, then he wouldn't have had to deal with any of her stupid remarks anymore. It was amazing to him how they started out possibly even on track to being friends, and then they quickly got to fighting each other to the death.
As she became visible, Derek smirked. Finally, she evened the playing field a bit. Now hopefully he would have the advantage. As she sent a wave of heat at him, he figured that it was now time to break out the big guns. Reconstitution was a power that hardly anybody had, and it was extremely powerful. It showed how powerful a demon was when they were able to use it, and so Derek figured now was the time. Bracing himself, he let the energy wave collide with his body, and he let out a loud scream, partially as an act, but then again, it did hurt to be killed too.
Only seconds later though, millions of tiny particles began silently swirling behind Isabella's back. And slowly, they formed Derek's body. Smirking, he looked straight at the back of her head. "Thought you had me, didn't you," he said, hoping that he would scare her from the sudden noise behind her.

When the wave hit him and he started screaming at first Isabella smirked but then when she realized what she had done, or what she had thought she done, her eyes widened. A Halliwell. She had just killed a Halliwell. And oh yeah, the son of the former source. There was no way she could have done that.
Although, it seemed like she did. Now, extreme regret flowed throughout her body as a reminder of one of the reasons she didn't kill anymore. After she had killed her brother killing made her feel worse than ever. She remembered how Derek said that killing was the worse feeling in the world and she sighed deeply. No wonder her parents had thought she was pathetic, she definitely wasn't cut out to live a life were you killed people everyday day.
When she heard a voice and she screamed as she jumped half a foot in the air. Isabella turned around her eyes wide and she felt light headed and scared all at the same time except this time since she had been caught of guard those feelings weren't shielded. She turned invisible without a clear demand fm her brain, it was a habit she got when she got huge but horribly bad surprises, and this definitely fell under that category.
"What the f**k was that?" Isabella screamed without even thinking and without bothering to lower her volume. A part of her registered the fact that that was weird in the middle of fight but most of her was too shocked to care. Now there she was feeling sorry for killing him and he decides to pop up in the middle of thin air. Well, not exactly, she had heard of his power but at this point she wasn't at any point where she was going to start thinking reasonably.
