Piper rushed around the kitchen of Halliwell Restaurant. "Dave I told you already, we're not changing the menu!" she said in an annoyed voice to one of her newest chefs. He always tried to control everything going on in the Kitchens, although Piper was the owner and manager he was pretty bold about it and it annoyed the crap out of her. It reminded her of someone she had worked with at Quake, a long time ago. She would've just fired him if he weren't one of her better cooks.
She groaned as her cell phone rang and flipped it open. "What?" she asked. She normally wouldn't answer her phone like that but her mind was too confused to even realise she was going to say that before she said it.
"Aunt Piper...somethings wrong." It was Keira, and she sounded confused and alarmed at the same time.
"Hold on." She took the cell phone away from her ear and addressed everyone in the kitchen. "I am going to go to my office for an important call..." she said before leaving the kitchen and when she had reached the office shut the door behind her.
She put the phone back by her ear. "What's wrong?"
"Well...you know how my cupid abilities tell me when someone is in love with someone else?" she said carefully.
Piper frowned. Keira was calling her about love? "Yea?"
"Do you know a Dan Gordon by any chance? Our new neighbour?"

He had been going through his box of old photos, in his bedroom, that the had taken while he and Piper were still together, and as hard as it had been to lose her...he was grateful to have found love while it lasted, with Anya's mother. Then when he saw Piper again it brought back all of his old feelings straight toward the surface. Though he hadn't told Piper about it, what point was that when clearly she wasn't interested in him, or maybe she was? He didn't know. Thought about this subject had been going through his head since he first came back to San Francisco. He didn't want to make a fool of himself yet he knew that something had to change. "Time to go." He told himself as he was about ready to leave the house. He felt just like he did when he first saw Piper, that attraction had not faded, like most of his other past relationships had.
He pulled out his favorite photo which had been on the Valentine's day they had spent together, it had been the most incredible day of his life, prior to having Anya. Still, he couldn't get that day out of his head for anything in the world. His love for Piper had not changed, even when he met Anya's mother, he still in some ways loved Piper, that had never stopped. He hadn't known really why Piper had broken up with him, and while most guys would've completely moved on with their lives, and not look back, he just couldn't. There was something about her that always amazed him and now to find out he was once dating a witch, the fact his own daughter had been a witch was more than he had ever thought imaginable. Yet, here he was faced with the chance to see her again. He got himself ready to go see Piper, as he slipped into some nice looking clothes, though not fancy clothes, just clothes that looked nice and didn't have holes in them. He then drove to the Halliwell Restaraunt and parked his car outside. He pulled the keys out of the ignition and walked inside. He grabbed himself a table and got himself something to eat.

"Yes...why?" she asked. She had no clue how Keira even knew about Dan.
"My ring sort of..." she trailed off as if trying to describe something. "It Teleported me to that house next to the Manor, your new neighbour. I don't think he could see me- it was like I was invisible or something," she explained. "He was looking at pictures of you and him...he left a little while ago," she continued. "He's got a whole box of stuff with you guys," she finished, and Piper heard the resentment in her voice. Keira knew her aunt would have been with previous guys but she refused to think of her aunt with someone other than Leo.
"Well...that was a long time ago Keira," she said. But she realised what Keira was implying. Dan still loved her. Piper felt the dread sink in. She had suspected it but now it was confirmed- Piper trusted her niece's abilities. This was not good at all. "Can't you get him to fall for someone else?" she asked.
"The Elders didn't assign me to him," she replied.
"Well how about we just-" she broke off. She had just walked into the dining area and saw someone she didn't expect to see. "Keira I'll call you back," she said, flipping her cell shut so the call was disconnected. She walked over to the table. "What are you doing here?" she asked, not unkindly but not sweetly either.

He didn't really expect anything at the moment, but he knew that Piper wasn't exactly thrilled to see him, that he could see perfectly. He knew that he shouldn't have come but...he didn't care so much either what other people thought. He wasn't one to easily give up, though he didn't know much about what had happened to Piper since they had split up. Since she wouldn't respond to any letters he had sent or anything of the sort.
"Piper. Well, it is close to the time when people generally eat...and that's exactly what I'm doing here, since you do have the best restaurant in the city, so I've been told." He said, though he was quite serious. He hadn't anticipated her reaction to be the way it had been but he didn't exactly not expect it either. He wasn't the type of guy to go anywhere without some kind of reason.
He sighed for a moment as he looked at her, wow she hadn't really changed in all the time that he had known her. He still loved her, but he was sure that she knew that by now. Though he knew there was a possibility that she may not even want to see him. Still, he couldn't just give up and walk out the door, that's not the kind of guy he wanted to be.
"Anya...she told me everything...but....this really isn't the place to talk about it. Given what it might lead to if anything were to spill out." Of course he was referring to the witch stuff, Anya had told him only two days ago...he was still dealing with it, but had reacted to it the way that he should have, as a good person and as a father. He couldn't just not deal with it, given what his daughter was doing, how many people would be after her.

"Oh....right," she said, pushing back some of her hair. Her mind was still on what Keira had just told her. If Dan loved her...that was not good. Her attention was regained when Dan said Anya had told him everything. Piper was confused for a second but then she realised what Dan was talking around. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it again when she could think of nothing. What was Anya thinking?!
"Okay," was all she could say. "At least she's safe," she added feebly. Well what were you supposed to say to something like that! She doubted Anya had ever been in the Underworld because she could teleport, and if she had met demons before she still wasn't a well-known witch so Piper doubted she was in danger.

He hadn't really thought about what it was like though finding out that his wife had been a witch and that his daughter was also, kind of was more of an information overload but he hadn't quite been surprised by what Anya had said, that Piper and her sisters were witches as well, that came as a shock at first though he had accepted it. He did care for Piper, loved her even, but that, was never going to change. He wasn't really trying to cause any trouble, he just well...there was no reason to avoid her.
"Yes, well she's safe for the time being, though I don't know how long that'll hold...especially given...what happened earlier. She was attacked, luckily she was able to defend herself. I was with her so I helped as best I could. She said Melody was a big help to her in all this, that your whole family had been helping her with it." He spoke softly, though he knew that Piper would be able to hear him. Still, he knew that she was a witch, that was easy enough to see, but things had changed now. He didn't know what had all happened in her life, after they broke up, he did know that Leo had been in her life, the one guy who ruined what they had. That annoyed him, that fight in P3, was enough to prove that. Still, he knew that Piper was able to make good choices on her own, though what she saw in the guy, still to this day he never could understand.

Piper was forced sit down opposite him to hear what he was saying. She knew he was talking quietly so no one would hear them. She frowned momentarily when he said that Anya had been attacked. That didn't make sense, demons didn't know about her. When he said that Melody had been helping her it occurred to her why though. "I'm sorry," she apologised, "That's our fault...as long as you're associated with the Halliwells that's bound to happen," she explained. She kept her voice soft too though, so no one else could hear.

"That's okay, I'm not going to force her to be something that she's not. I may not like the fact about what's going on, who's after her, but I can't change that, nor would I want to. It's supposed to be my job to protect her, especially after her mother died. She's all I've got left, or at least, considering my brother in law and my sister won't speak to me and then there's Jenny but I rarely hear from her. I'm not afraid of them, sure I may not have what it takes to necessarily fight them off, but I've never been one to run from a fight, even if it's one that I can't necessarily win." He spoke rather softly. He didn't mind so much the fact that Anya had magic or the fact that the Halliwells did either, though he knew a couple of years ago he probably would've freaked out, but he'd changed since he had last seen Piper.
"Your secret is safe with me, Piper, you know that. I mean I may never completely understand it, hell I know I won't, but you don't have to worry about me telling anyone, who would I tell? I'm not stupid, I know what would happen if I were to tell, besides I would never do anything that would put you or your family, or my own family in danger." He said as he looked into her eyes, he liked talking to Piper, though he was sure that she seemed a bit hesitant about talking to him now, but what else could he really do? He had finished his meal but still he didn't really have any other place to be at the moment.

Leo had just got done working with a charge, when his stomach rumbled. He sensed if there was anyone in the manor, but there wasn't. He knew that the sisters had been busy lately, and he also knew where the cook of the family also known as his wife would be if she wasn't at the manor. He sensed where Piper was, locating her at the restaurant. A smile crossed his face as he orbed out of Paris, France and into the restaurant.
A cloud of blue and white orbs appeared in the restaurant, by a table where Piper was sitting. He didn't notice the other person sitting there until he started to walk towards her, noticing who the other person was. Dan? What was he doing here?! Leo thought to himself. His mood began to turn slowly sour, out of his happy one he was in moments before. "Piper?" he asked as he looked at her, continuing to the table. Why was she sitting with him? More importantly, what was he doing here? he thought to himself angrily. He looked at Piper, a look of wonder and shock appeared on his face. He waited for one of them to answer, becoming angered every second Dan was still here.

Piper hesitated. She didn't know. It was why she had never trusted him with her secret in the first place. And now he ws back after so many years, being all sincere as if everything was fine like when they had now met. He loved her, as if she weren't married with three kids. Okay so she hadn't told him yet but he hadn't exactly given her a chance! She was thinking of what to reply when she saw blue orbs appear in the restaurant. It wasn't that full but still. An angry exclamation came to her lips but she didn't say anything, not in public. What the hell was Leo thinking? Piper had always been a bit paranoid about getting exposed ever since Prue died, Leo knew that. Her eyes flashed with a hint of warning at him.
She saw equal anger on Leo's face and wondered why for a moment when she looked at the person sitting across from her. Dan. She remembered then how much they had hated each other. Seeing his anger increase she knew what he was thinking. "We're just talking..." she said. She doubted Leo would quesition her loyalty but with Dan around, who knew? Anyway, the talk was awkaward so why was she still sitting?
She got up kissed Leo. Normally she wouldn't do that in the middle of the day in her restaurant but she wanted to tell Dan, without words, that their was no hope for them rekindling their relationship. If anything was going perfect in Piper's life it was her love life, as everything else was screwed up. She rarely saw her sisters. Paige was at Magic School all the time, Phoebe was at the Hospital and then her magical life didn't help. Lately they had lost more innocents than normal.

Watching Piper and Leo brought back everything he had felt back when he and Piper were together. From the moment he met Leo, jealousy had always been the worst thing that Leo seemed to bring out in him. Still, fighting in the middle of a restaurant would not be a good thing, but little did he know there was more to it than that. He was sincerely thankful that Piper and the others had been helping Anya learn her craft, though he wasn't about to say that part in public, he wasn't that stupid, he had found out, through his own research what had happened to witches back when there were witch trials and that was more information than he wanted to know. He wasn't about to take a chance, and have anyone getting killed for something like that, especially since he had seen first hand what magic was capable of, when his daughter had been attacked by demons in front of him. That was more than enough to protect her secret and theirs obviously, even though a few years ago, he would probably have thought them all to be certifiably insane.
Little did he know that he was hit by a hate ball, which if he had known what they were, he would've known that they cause the person that was hit by one to be completely obsessed with rage against the first person they see...or more or less, that already the person may not have completely trusted, in this case it would be Leo. He hadn't known about it. His rage had been building after being hit, though he hadn't quite noticed it and had lived as normal of a life as he could get, prior to being hit with that hate ball, everything in his life had been nice and calm, even normal prior to moving back to San Francisco. Suddenly he just snapped and went after Leo, not even being able to realize what he was doing. It was almost as if he had been possessed or something, he couldn't even control what he was doing, let alone being able to stop himself. There would be really bad consequences when it would all be over with.

Leo's mood softened when he heard they were just talking. He knew he could trust Piper, after all.....she did choose him over Dan in the first place. So he calmed down and looked at her, then looked at Dan. Before he knew what was happening, Piper was up from her seat and kissing him. He wasn't complaining, he was just shocked that she did it here. Usually they kept their romantic life at home. But regardless, he gladly kissed back.
He was so oblivious to Dan because he was kissing his wife at the moment, that he didn't see Dan launch himself at him. Leo broke the kiss, smiling. But before he knew what was happening, he was on the floor...looking up at the ceiling. His head hurt, but he was trying to figure out what just happened. "What the hell?" he said as he reached for his head.

Piper jumped back slightly when Dan appeared out of no where and pushed Leo to the floor. Everyone currently in the restaurant fell silent. Piper wasn't sure whether she should yell at Dan or help Leo up first. For a few seconds she felt as if she had used her freezing power on her self, but when Leo spoke and broke the silence that had fallen throughout the restaurant her mind started working again. "What the hell is wrong with you?" she demanded fiercely. This was not the Dan she had known before- the Dan she knew would have accepted what happened gracefully no matter how he felt.
She looked at Leo. "You ok?" she asked offering her hand to him. It took someone like Piper to pull off looking furious and surprised at one person, and concerned for another at the same time.

He didn't know what to think, nothing seemed to make sense, he was enraged but yet, had no idea why. It was like he wasn't even himself. He was struggling with even the most basic of concepts at the moment, it was like there wasn't anyone else in the room with him even though there were, the only people he could actually see and hear were Piper and Leo. He hadn't even realized where he was, let alone who he was. What could happen now?
He looked at Piper, though he felt odd, he didn't know why. Something or someone had gotten to him. The hatred that had been brewing because of the hate ball, had exploded which had caused him to attack Leo, yet, now his eyes felt like they were on fire. He couldn't even handle any of this....it was as if someone had taken him over, to do what he had done. He couldn't feel anything it was like watching as life passed him by, yet he had no control over it. It wasn't like him to go after anyone, let alone someone like Leo. He hadn't done something like that in years, Leo hadn't done anything to him this time around, yet he had done something and not even know it. He just looked at Piper, and then at Leo, normally he would have just left, but it was like whenever he tried to make a step, he just couldn't. Something or someone was holding him back big time. Which, if he were released from whatever was holding him back, would proabably cause more damage than otherwise intended.
He was stumbling, and his eyes, when he looked at Piper, were not his usual color, in fact they seemed as if he had been possessed by something, his eyes were darker, and the fact that he had attacked someone who hadn't done a thing to him, well that was more sinister than even he understood. Anyone who saw the looks in his eyes, would know that something was not right...but those who knew about other things, like Piper did, would know that something was different about him, something evil had happened. That, anyone with magical knowledge would know, or at least should be able to figure out.

Leo was still rubbing his head when Piper spoke. He looked at her, realizing he was still on the ground and the restaurant went quiet. He noticed Piper's hand extended to him as he took it, and helped himself up....with her hand of course. He got up, the only thing really hurting was his head. But that would heal quickly enough he didn't worry about it. "Thanks" he said as he looked at Piper, and then turned to Dan. "What the hell were......" but Leo stopped mid sentence as he met Dan's eyes. He knew that look, and knew it well.
He turned to Piper, as a serious look replaced the aloof one. "Piper..." he said as he glanced at Dan again. "His eyes....look" Leo said as he looked back at Piper. He was trying not to draw too much attention to them, but this was deffinitley a magical problem.
