He didn't know that his daughter was a witch, but he did know that he would do whatever it took to help his daughter in any way that he could, after all he was the only parent in her life, and he had to act like that. Though he knew that being in control all the time, and her constantly being told what to do, probably annoyed her, but he didn't want to see her end up like his late wife did. Seeing her die, was not a good thing. Anya had been in the car too, it was a miracle that she was even alive.

Anya was coming back from the manor when she saw her dad sitting on the front porch of their house. Anya's mother had been dead for ten years and she found it hard growing up without a mother. Lately she had been spending most of her time at the manor since she was really good friend's with Piper's niece Melody. Her father didn't know she was a witch because she only practiced her powers when she was at the manor.

He hadn't even seen any of the Halliwells since moving back in next door and he didn't know how Piper at least would react to it, especially since of what happened between them the last time they had seen eachother, he had never mentioned this to his daughter though. He smiled as he saw Anya and it looked like she was heading his way, which of course, he knew that was a good thing, maybe she was going to spend some time with him? What could he expect?

Anya sat down on the steps beside her father. She had been going to the manor everyday to practice her magic although her father thought she was just going to hang with Melody. She knew her father wouldn't understand if he found out about her powers so she kept them hidden from him. "Whats up dad?" she asked with a smile.

He smiled as he looked down upon his young daughter, the only child he'd probably end up having, especially since he hadn't had good luck with women other than with Regina and Piper his whole life. "Nothing really, I didn't figure you'd be home so early, did everything go alright with Melody and everything?" He was tempted to ask about Piper but then decided not to. He didn't know whether it would be appropriate.

"Everything went fine. We even baked cookies using a recipe she got from her aunt and they were the best I've ever tasted." Anya said smiling. "Dad can you tell me more about Piper?" Anya asked looking down at her feet. She knew if it wasn't for Melody and her family she never would have gotten the hang of using her powers.

He smiled as he looked at Anya and smiled a little bit. "Piper, is really...smart I've known her for years, a long time before your mother was in my life. I've known her a very long time as a matter of fact." He smiled as he talked about her, after all he did like her, still things were changing a little bit. He didn't know of course that Piper was a witch or that his daughter was either. None of this made any sense.

Piper pulled in and parked her car in front of Halliwell Manor. She got out and absently glanced at the house next to theirs. Recently they had gotten new neighbors but so much had been going on only Melody seemed to really got to know one of them- a girl names Anya Gordon. Melody had talked about her a few days back.
The last name seemed familiar but she hadn't had much time to think about it- after she had talked to Melody, Phoebe had sent Leo down to the Underworld to make sure Cole was okay. Piper had been against it but at least Phoebe would be able to sleep better knowing Cole was safe. She sighed, but the sigh turned to a gasp as she realised who was sitting on the porch of the house next door...was that really him?

Anya listened to her father talk about Piper. She had been over to the manor quiet often but she had never met Melody's aunt. She only knew what Melody had told her. She looked up and saw a lady standing outside the house next door and recognized her immediately by what Melody had told her. "Is that her?" Anya asked as she continued to watch the house next door.

"Wow, she hasn't changed a bit, yes, that's her, that's Piper Halliwell." He smiled as he got up off of the porch and walked toward Piper, not really knowing what he was going to say, but he knew that anything and everything was possible. He still cared about her, that had never stopped obviously, otherwise he wouldn't have asked for his old house back. Still, he knew that anything and everything was possible. He wasn't about to make a mistake and do something quite reckless, he had other people to think about, like Anya. He loved Anya more than life itself.

Piper stayed frozen to the spot as Dan came towards her. Behind Dan she could see the girl who was clearly Anya. She brushed a strand of her dark hair out of her eyes as he came up to her. She remembered how she had chosen Leo over him. It was probably the hardest decision she had ever made in her life, though she never once doubted it. She waited for him to say something first. He had approached her after all.

Anya watched as her father got up and walked over to Piper. She sat there for a minute then decided to follow her father to see what would happen next. Besides she had heard a lot about Piper and she really wanted to meet her.

"Hello, Piper." He said rather simply, after all he knew that everything was possible. He didn't want to get her upset, or anything. He just was surprised to see her after all it had been years since they were in the same city, let alone anything else. He still cared for her, and he was pretty sure it would show soon enough. "So I've heard that you've been keeping an eye on Anya." He said rather softly, he always was rather great with kids, had been since before he and Piper even met, though he never thought of himself to be...well...a father figure, not until he had the pleasure of having Anya in his life.

Anya stood there silently as she looked from her dad to Piper then back at her dad. She thought Melody did a good job describing her aunt and she looked forward to getting to know her new neighbors better.

"Not really...that was my niece Melody," she replied quietly. She avoided looking at his eyes. She didn't want any old feelings rekindled...she was with Leo and nothing would change that. "So you're married then?" she asked.
